Series of Digital Influencer & Character Building (Part 1): Quo Vadis Digital Society
June 9, VDMI started the new series of capacity building programs with the topic Digital Influencer & Character Building. Facilitated by Harsono Hadi, Learning Facilitator and Founder of Lini Sinergi Consulting, the program was held from 15:00 to 17:00 WIB. The first part of the series discussed Quo Vadis Digital Society. In the era where everything is digitalized, everyone can take the role of directing social attention.
At least there are three analogies of common roles in the digital era: water, soap, and foam. The water takes up the role in leading the social attention. The soap is those who exaggerate facts or reality presented by people classified as water. Finally, the foam is those who just go with the flow or the ‘Yes Men’. As the two sides of a blade, digital society can be dangerous and beneficial at the same time.
Nomophobia, phubbing, trolling, and cyberbullying are the dark side of digital society. To be able to get the benefit of digital society we should equip ourselves with a positive mindset and habits, life skills, good character, and managing our time wisely.
