Visit Partner Yogyakarta and YVDMI/VDMS Joint Meeting 2024
Thursday, January 25 2024, VDMS Board Netherlands – Ivo ten Pierick – together with Yayasan Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia visited VDMI Partners in Yogyakarta. First, visit Gadjah Mada University (UGM) at the UGM Central Building, Lt. 2 Sayap Timur. This meeting was attended by Dr. Sindung Tjahyadi, M.Hum (Director of Student Affairs UGM), Desi Yulianti, S.E., M.Acc (Head of Sub-Directorate for UGM Student Organizations, Facilities and Services), Fatchi Rahmawaty, S.Pd. (PIC UGM), Michael Tri Haryono, S.Pd (PIC Sanata Dharma University), Prof. Irfan Prijambada (Chairperson of Advisory Member YVDMI), Parche Manoto (Executive Director of YVDMI), Imbung Nurwanto (Finance, Taxation and Compliances YVDMI) and several grantees from Gadjah Mada University and Sanata Dharma University. Next, visit Universitas Islam Indonesia on VIP Floor 3, UII Rectorate Building. Attended by Arif Fajar Wibisono, S.E., M.Sc. (Director of Student Affairs Development UII), Nur Pratiwi Noviati, S.Psi., M.Psi Psychologist (PIC UII) and several grantees of Universitas Islam Indonesia.
Grantees expressed their gratitude to VDMS/YVDMI for assisting them in completing their studies. Scholarship funds provided every month by VDMI can be used to pay tuition fees and daily living expenses. Some grantees said there was no need to ask parents for money, thereby easing the burden on parents in thinking about costs.
Van Deventer-Maas Stichting and Yayasan Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia signed an renewal agreement of cooperation on January 27, 2024 at Royal Ambarrukmo Hotel, Yogyakarta. The Agreement was signed by Ute Jansen (Chairperson of VDMS), Berit Van Hulst (Vice-Chairperson of VDMS), Pariasih Manoto (Executive Director of YDMI) and Veronica Triprihatmini (YVDMI Advisory Board member). This Agreement replaces the Agreement signed on 28th October 2017.
By working together, both parties agreed and adhere to the following principles: focus on the legacy of Betsy Maas, have trust each other, and YVDMI can manage the funds given in an autonomous way in accordance of joint meeting strategy attached to the Agreement, for the period of 2024-2029.
The Strategic Programme Direction of YVDMI-VDMS period of 2024-2029, as an updated of previous strategic vision of 2019-2024, signed by Irfan Dwidya Prijambada (Ketua Pembina YVDMI) and Ute Jansen (Chairperson of VDMS). YVDMI and VDMS agreed that the Strategic Programme Direction 2024-2029 should be based on the main and most important goal which is to provide scholarships to young students.
