Support for Secondary School Students
VDMI started with a pilot concerning ten students, each in one of the following secondary schools: AKPER (the Nursing Academy, Ende); SMK Tarbiyah (the Vocational Secondary School for Fisheries, Ende); SMK Sadar Wisata (the Vocational Secondary School for Tourism, Ruteng). The schools are situated in Flores as the VDMI directs its activities in particular to the relatively poor Eastern part of Indonesia.
Online Writing Coaching
VDMI scholarship also provides a continuous online writing coaching via the Excellent Writing Club (EWC) platform. The program aims to improve VDMI alumni and grantees' writing skills so that they can share their knowledge and experiences to more people through writing. In the program, grantees and alumni can submit their writing to get feedback from the reviewer. After receiving feedback for their articles, alumni and grantees could utilize the feedback when revising the article or when writing their next articles.
To submit articles to the EWC platform, see the Useful Links. The EWC membership is a lifelong membership. Thus, after receiving the username and password, grantees and alumni can access the platform and send their articles anytime at their convenience. Selected articles will be published in the VDMI monthly e-newsletter.
