OtotSendi: VDMI Online Capacity Building Program
VDMI continues to inspire alumni and grantees through the ‘Ototsendi’ program, which discussed various interesting topics. Besides the live Instagram talk show, the Ototsendi program also has a form of the workshop via Zoom. Last month, Ototsendi has Women Empowerment series. There were three speakers in the series. First, Serlinia Rambu Anawoli, VDMI alumna from Artha Wacana Christian University that active in the women empowerment communities shared her experience in empowering women in Kupang. Second, Aan Fajri Lestari, VDMI alumna from Gadjah Mada University, discussed her ups and downs in initiating a foundation in Gunung Kidul Yogyakarta that provides scholarships to students from elementary to high school level. Finally, Amalia Hasnida, a Ph.D. Candidate at Erasmus School of Health Policy and Management shared her experience on how to be independent while studying in the Netherland.
Next, Ototsendi has the How to Contribute to Society series with Ibu Ani Fegda, Ibu Jenny Ratna Suminar, and Bapak Ibnu Suryana. Ibu ani suggested broadening the horizon by being open mind and open hearts. Meanwhile, Ibu Jenny encouraged the participants to be the best seeds for anything that they want to achieve. It means that the students should acquire skills needed so that they can absorb the knowledge and grow strong from the process. Furthermore, Bapak Ibnu challenged the participants to know themselves and others. Also, he suggested that the participants should be responsible for any action that they commit.
A series of online writing workshops become the topic of the Ototsendi program for July 2020. The first workshop was how to write Feature by Ibu Kristin Samah. Then, the workshop continued by Bapak ST Kartono who discussed how to make aspiration into an opinion article. Next, Ibu Reda Gaudiamo inspired the VDMI family to write a book and make writing a habit. Finally, Bapak Roni H. Mustamu will present tips and tricks on writing for mass media on July 20th, 2020.
