Visit Taman Baca Oesapa and Mangrove Conservation
Since 2013, Regional Representative (RR) Kupang has been consistent with the Mangrove Conservation and Taman Baca Oesapa. East Nusa Tenggara, especially Kupang, in 2021 was hit by Storm Seroja which caused a lot of damage and fallen trees, including Taman Baca Oesapa. Taman Baca was damaged and cannot operate. Apart from that, the Covid-19 pandemic is still ongoing and has resulted in no activities at Taman Baca. For this reason, Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia wants to revive the enthusiasm for reading and learning in children at Taman Baca Oesapa together with Alumni and Grantees RR Kupang.
Saturday, September 2 2023, VDMI held a Storytelling activity with the children of Taman Baca Oesapa. Reading and Singing guided by Reda Gaudiamo. The children were very enthusiastic about the story from the book Na Willa. The children wore East Nusa Tenggara traditional dress and were enthusiastic during the session. One of the children also read a short story about the story of Na Willa to her friends. As a form of attention, Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia donated story books, maps and learning aids. After that, VDMI and RR Kupang looked at mangrove conservation which had been carried out since 2013. Currently there are many mangroves and they are protecting the Oesapa beach area.
