Series of Digital Influencer & Character Building (Part 2): Vanity, Social Sensibility, and Instan Culture

On June 17 the second part of the Digital Influencer and Character Building series continued with the topic of Vanity, Social Sensibility, and Instant Culture. These negative impacts of digital society may be spread by some ‘bad influencers’. Thus, we need to be careful in choosing people that we follow. The participants were assigned to choose an influencer that inspired them. Various names such as Jerome Polin, Gita Savitri Devi, Chelsea Islan, and Fuadh Naim were mentioned for their positive influence on Indonesian youths.

One of the participants from the Bandung Institute of Technology, Ferdinand Gerry, asked whether social sensibility requires action. Ferdinand wants to know whether it is possible to have internal social sensibility without necessarily showing it to others around him. The facilitator explained that social sensibility indeed requires action because it is the manifestation of sympathy and empathy.

Throughout the session, Bapak Harsono gave quizzes. The participants who managed to answer the quizzes received gifts directly from the facilitator. Adelia Cenora Meliala (USU), Danang Aryo Kusumo (USU), Nopri Sinaga (Unimed), and Melinda Kusuma Ningrum (Unair) are those who received the gifts. The third part of the series will be on June 23 at the same time. Secure your seat by registering yourself for the program!
